Alice Bereng was born in Lesotho and currently resides in the USA. Originally, she focused her career on the hair and make-up industry, which culminated in the founding of the Semaj Salon in 2006. Years later, Alice rediscovered her passion for fashion design and went on to create the AB Beauty Towel. She then established her own clothing brand called HIS HER-itage. The brand is inspired by the iconic Basotho Heritage blankets worn by the Basotho people.Wearing a traditional Mokorotlo hat is saying, “I am a Mosotho” without using words. Our Chiefs started wearing the Mokorotlo, which inspired a song and later a dance by the same name. As a Mosotho Diaspora, I wanted to share this meaningful traditional symbol with the world.
